A graduate of Bethel College, Brenda holds a B.A. degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis and a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She has taught elementary music in Silverton, Oregon and in Denver, Colorado. Brenda has sung with the Oregon Festival Choral and the Willamette Master Chorus, has worked with a variety of church children’s and adult choirs, and has taught private piano and voice lessons. She is currently a member of Kansas Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, American Association of University Women, and the Bethel College Women’s Association. This is Brenda’s first year as artistic director of the Newton Community Children’s Choir. In its eighteenth season, the choir has performed and competed in a variety of concerts and festivals all over the United States, winning numerous awards and honors for its musical excellence. Brenda lives in North Newton with her husband, Barry. They have two children, Jordan, a student at Bethel College, and Leah, a student at Newton High School. |

Melody Bontrager |
Melody Wiens Bontrager is a graduate of Bethel College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a minor in Music. She is a member of the Kansas Music Teachers Association as well as the Newton Music Teachers Association. Currently, Melody works as a registered nurse at Newton Medical Center. In addition, she has a private piano studio and enjoys performing and accompanying. Melody resides in North Newton with her husband, Greg, and three children, Marissa, Shawn, and Seth. |
